Description MSettle determines the direct settlement, consolidation and secondary creep along verticals in a 2D geometry. In addition to different types of weight loads, vertical drainage can be included. Interactive input of 2D geometry with arbitrary shaped layers via drawing, or data entry in forms. Definition of time-dependent piezometric heads along lines, optionally layer-by-layer. Direct input of material properties via forms, or import of material properties from the MGeoBase data-base. Exchange of geometry with related GeoDelft M Series software for stability analysis and seepage. Loading types available: Initial stress from dead weight; Surcharges with different loading times (continuous load with arbitrary distribution in the direction of the plane; rectangular shape; circular shape); Pore pressures from the input of piezometric levels for different layers and at different times; Vertical drainage. It can use actual settlement measurements to improve soil parameter estimates via a fit procedure and can then determine more accurate predictions of future settlements. It determines the transient 1D settlement along user-defined verticals by the following methods: Isotache numerical method which distinguishes separate strain contributions of elasto-plastic consolidation and viscous creep. NEN 6744 or Koppejan analytical methods which use a small strain assumption. Approximate consolidation is incorporated via an equivalent coefficient of consolidation for the combined layers. Tabular output of transient settlements and stresses. Graphs of settlement against time; initial stresses along verticals; final stresses along verticals.
