Description | SWANDYNE for Windows (SWANsea DYNamic) is a dynamic interaction and nonlinear 2D (plane strain and axi-symmetric) program which uses the fully coupled Biot dynamic equation with the assumption that the fluid acceleration relative to the solid skeleton is negligible. The program uses finite elements of both triangle and quadrilaterial in shape. Since fluid velocity can be eliminated in differential equation stage so the resulting variables are skeleton displacement (u) and pore pressure (p). This is why it is called the u-p formulation. The program can be used to deal with Static, Consolidating, and Dynamic conditions under Draining or Undrained conditions. The program includes a library of constitutive models which can deal with monotonic to cyclic loading of sand and clay including the modelling of liquefaction behaviour. A limited function demo version is available on the www. |
