Description | Windows-based Hydrogeologic Exploration and Appraisal Toolkit (WHEAT) is a set of programs for computer-based mapping and geographic analysis which aids in the display, analysis, and manipulation of hydrogeologic information. Constructs maps from data stored in a relational database. Obtain information on a geographic feature by selecting it with the mouse. Perform geographical analysis of the data (such as overlays and finding the nearest feature), and export the data to other programs for further analysis. Microsoft Access database (MS Access required) which treats an item's geographic coordinates as attributes. Modular and designed to be extended by the user. Overlay themes, view spatial relationships and produces maps. Runs spatial queries which retrieves information about features based on geographic criteria. Includes programs for importing ARC/INFO ungenerate format files and for converting ASCII chains of points to/from WHEAT's internal XYBLOB format. Attribute files can be imported using MS Access. Single point locations, such as for point symbols and labels, are read from columns in a datatable. |
