Description CyberQuake is used for determining seismic soil responses. It includes an extensible accelerogram database, tools for pre- and post-processing of seismic signals, graphics and online help. Nonlinear elastoplastic or equivalent linear computations may be carried out on multi-layered, dry or saturated soil profiles. The dynamic soil response is computed with the elastoplastic assumption for soil deposits. The main features of the soil behavior, such as secant shear modulus and damping ratio variation with respect to distortion, are reproduced by the cyclic constitutive model in a large strain range. Thus, it is possible to evaluate among other things: irreversible settlement, generation of sub-harmonics, saturation of the acceleration amplitude, coupling between various components of motion, liquefaction potential. Several nonlinear or equivalent linear computations can be carried out during the same session, using either recorded, synthetic or analytical signals as input. All numerical aspects are handled automatically. The finite element mesh and time integration scheme are selected in order to meet the stability and accuracy requirements and to minimize the numerical dispersion. The data may be imported and visualized, or exported using various formats (bmp, wmf, jpeg, png). In addition to dynamic computations, it is possible to perform various operations on accelerograms, such as direct or inverse fast Fourier transforms, response spectra, baseline correction, Fourier spectrum smoothing, frequency filtering, numerical integration or derivation. The accelerogram database contains most well-known natural acceleration recordings with three components. Users may include their own accelerogram for analysis. A Parameter Wizard uses various correlations found in literature to determine the main parameters for the elastoplastic model. For granular materials, these correlations require the Uniformity Coefficient, Relative Density, grain shape and size. For clayey materials the Overconsolidation Ratio and Plasticity Index are required.
