Description | TPILE is a special-purpose version of the three-dimensional, non-linear analysis and design program EDP developed by Digital Structures, Inc. of Berkeley, California. It is a two-dimensional version of EDP that is specially set up for analyzing piles embedded in layered soils. It represents the soil resistance in each layer by nonlinear p-y and t-z curves and the tip resistance by a q-z curve. These curves may be specified by the user or they can be automatically generated by the program using the procedures of API RP2A. Allows arbitrary loads or displacements to be applied at the top of the pile or at any intermediate position and can be used to analyze response to both axial and lateral loads. Generates complete results for stresses and deformations along the pile in both tabular and graphical forms. Also generates tangent and secant stiffness matrices at the pile top which may then be used in linear analyses of the supported structure. |
