Description ArcCAD gives GIS functionality within AutoCAD. It provides mapping, data management, and display tools that work directly with AutoCAD software's design and drafting tools. Create thematic maps based on database attributes. By combining these techniques with AutoCAD's graphics design tools, it can also create high-quality cartographic products. Quickly develop GIS data sets with tools to capture selected entities from drawings based on layer, colour, and other AutoCAD properties. With the same tools, text and attributes can be loaded into databases and associated with map features. Tabular editing is performed in a spreadsheet-like environment while spatial data changes are made with AutoCAD editing tools. Provides a set of GIS selection and query commands. Base your queries on circles, polygons, and windows, as well as logical (database) expressions. It can be integrated with hundreds of other AutoCAD-based applications to provide such functionality as image display, project management, planning and design, surface modelling, animation. Analysis and manipulation tools enable you to perform polygon overlay, line and point-in-polygon overlay, buffer creation, dissolves, find nearest. Attribute data created are stored in dBASE file format. Access attribute data stored in other database formats using database drivers shipped with AutoCAD Release 14 (Paradox 4.5, dBASE III Plus, and FoxPro 2.5) or available through ODBC 2.0 (Oracle, SYBASE, INFORMIX, etc.). View a variety of monochrome and colour raster images and use them as backgrounds for vector information. It can also display, move, and scale images, and perform a two-point registration. Supported colour image types include TIFF, GIF, and PCX. Supported monochrome image types include HRF, PCX, TIFF, RLE, IMG, RLC, BIN, RNL, RL9, CG4, and CCRF.
