Description MFoundation is a tool for code-based design and verification of bearing piles, tension piles and shallow foundations. For pile design it requires input data from Cone Penetration Tests (CPT). In addition to manual input, it can import data in GEF and NENGEO formats. It can propose soil-type dependent values of additional soil parameters by integrating table 1 of the Dutch standard NEN 6740. It has a library of pile types available that is in accordance with the Dutch standard NEN 6743. The user can also define a library of piles. Code-based design of bearing piles according to the NEN 6740 and NEN 6743 standards, or according to the de Beer method. Users may overrule the values of most code-based parameters. It determines the bearing capacity and required length of a single pile, for different pile types and different Cone Penetration Tests. For pile group design it determines load settlement curves, with optimisation of a uniform pile length. It performs code checking for pile group designs with fixed individual lengths. Designs a tension pile group according to CUR guidelines. It allows design of strip footings or footings with a circular or square geometry according to NEN 6744. It can propose soil-type dependent values of additional soil parameters by integrating table 1 of the Dutch standard NEN 6740. CPT's are not required in designing shallow foundations. The design of shallow foundations can be optimised by the determination of bearing capacity or of dimensions for a given load. Results are presented as tabular output.
