Description PIT-W is software for reprocessing and interpreting low strain data obtained with the Pile Integrity Tester (PIT). The Standard Version is supplied with the PIT hardware. It analyzes records in the time domain and outputs user customized tables and reports. Results can be filtered, magnified with an exponential amplification as a function of time to account for signal reductions due to soil, and plotted. The analysis in the time domain is recommended for the determination of the defect depth. The Professional Version has additional tools for Frequency Domain Analysis, Pile Profile Analysis and Wave Speed Calculation. In the Frequency Domain Analysis, the relative mobility and dynamic stiffness of the pile can be computed so different piles can be compared. It yields a relative assessment of pile strength and quality. The Pile Profile Analysis generates a plot of pile impedance as a function of depth for piles with a clear toe. The Wave Speed Calculation tool is used when data from two accelerometers is available. Once the wave speed is calculated an unknown pile length may be estimated.
