| Description | Cartes & Donnees MEDIUM (Maps and Data) is a thematic mapping tool available in four versions. It imports data from spreadsheets and databases and displays it on a map in a range of colours, with circular or square symbols proportional to the data. Any numerical data can be associated with a series of points, lines or polygons on the map. Multiple layers can be superimposed. The attributes of each layer can be changed through check boxes or menus. This program adds to the basic version the following: square mapping (which gives a synthetic vision of a phenomenon), polarization (eg attraction zone of city), direct use of qualitative data , Bertin matrix (visual topology of spaces according to data associated to them), opposite semicircles and aggregation (ie a function that automatically generates a map at a country level if you have data for provinces). |
