Category | Contaminant modelling |
Platform | Win3x |
Status | Commercial |
Description | SESOIL simulates chemical releases to the soil from various sources, such as landfill, leaks and agricultural applications. From input data of climate, soil type, chemistry, application and washload the program calculates hydrologic cycle of the unsaturated soil zone; pollutant concentrations and masses in water, soil and air phases; pollutant migration to ground water; pollutant volatisation at the ground surface; pollutant transport in washload due to surface runoff and erosion. Models up to four soil layers with up to 10 sublayers in each. Considers volatisation, adsorption, cation exchange, biodegradation, hydrolysis and complexation processes. Includes database of chemical properties for 8 contaminants. Also available are databases of climate and soil type for North America to provide input parameters for the program.
