Description | APILE Plus for Windows computes the axial capacity as a function of depth of a driven pile in clay, sand, or mixed-soil profiles. The main computational methods used are those established by the American Petroleum Institute (API) in their manual on recommended practice, API-RP2A. In addition the following methods can also be used: U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) method; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) method, and the Lambda-Method. The program allows users to specify any type of values for the transfers in skin friction and end bearing as a function of depth. This feature is useful for cases when site measurements were made from axial load tests. A short-term, load-settlement curve may also be computed for driven piles of a specific length. The program uses internally-generated t-z curves (side resistance as function of movement) and q-w curve (end bearing as function of movement) for developing the load-settlement predictions. |
