Description CE.CA.P calculates the bearing capacity of foundations. The following methods can be used: Terzaghi, Meyerhof, Hansen and Vesic. The allowable bearing pressure is determined for a given shape (square, rectangular, circular or strip) and stratigraphy. The safety factor under effective load conditions is determined as the ratio between ultimate bearing pressure and the effective vertical stress. It is possible to determine the settlement of foundations resulting from normal loads and from moments. The calculation is performed at the most significant points and thus also the rotations due to differential settlement are determined. The settlement can be determined for square, rectangular, circular or strip foundations. The use of numerical methods allows you to determine immediate elastic deformation and the long term effects of consolidation separately using the methods of Boussinesq, Terzaghi and Skempton. The bearing capacity of foundation piles of small, middle or large diameter can be determined in stratified, cohesive and non-cohesive strata, under drained or undrained conditions. Different formulae are used for driven piles (in steel or concrete) and for bored piles, thereby taking into account the effects induced by boring or pile driving. Base and skin resistance are determined separately. The program performs the calculations for different families of diameter and length, the resultant chart allows the choice of the optimum diameter-length combination from an economic point of view. Results can be cut and pasted to other programs or exported in Microsoft Word 97 format. The complete user manual is available on-line. Multilingual (Italian, English, French and Spanish). LAN supported. A full working demo version is available on the WWW.
